Literature Text

My life is a mere breath, often I find it is worth nothing.
Your future has existence, it has meaning.
And your past was longer than my life alone.

My mistakes – resting in an album, waiting to be looked through, waiting for past memories to resurface.
To take my soul and rip it apart, that is its purpose.

What is purpose?

To live for something, something that keeps you going.
Something that counteracts negativity.

Purpose is something, someone, somewhere.
Anybody can find it.

Don’t we all have a purpose?

Maybe I have a purpose, maybe you have a purpose.
Maybe we all have a purpose and we’re not trying hard enough to see it.
Maybe we all have found, or are finding this so-called purpose, that something to live for.

Purpose is the force that keeps our mind from thinking about that album filled with mistakes and haunting, past memories.

This purpose is something that creates passion, faith, that creates in us a desire to live.
It strengthens us, and strays us from negativity.

Yes, it is the power that stops us from saying that we want to die.

Maybe your life has meaning.
There is a reason you live.

Find that meaning.
Find your reason.
Find it, and when you do, tell me what your purpose is, and where it was hiding.

Take that album filled with mistakes and throw it into a bottomless pit of painful memories.
It will never resurface.

And finally, tell me,
what is your purpose?

It is the power that stops us from saying that we want to die.

I actually wrote another poem a long time ago entitled, "Purpose" (which I haven't submitted on DA), and this poem is a remake of that poem. I hope it's thought-provoking.

I like this a lot :)

I don't think that I have found my purpose, at least not yet...
